The great wide blue yonder

I end my week of blue with this beautiful photo of the hydrangea horseshoe outside Groote Schuur, the house of Cecil Rhodes. Between blue heaven and blue earth, the blue haze of Table Mountain and Devil's Peak.

Photo by Alain Proust to accompany text written by Graham Viney for The World of Interiors, June 1986.

  1. That is just incredible! In the words of Tiny Fey "I want to go to there". I just love this time of year and all the flowers. WOI is just the best.
Btw, thanks for your sweet comment on 'we love dc'!

  2. What a beautiful photo - I visited Cape Town a few years ago and that natural beauty was really astounding. I've not seen this view of Table Mountain before so thank you for sharing it. As a newcomer to Atlanta, I'm just discovering your blog and really enjoying it. Sorry I'll miss you at our lunch next week. Hopefully another time.

  3. Thank you, Stefan. South Africa is one of those places I want to visit when I retire which I thought would happen this summer but ....

From the Right Bank, thank you and welcome to Atlanta. I had not known of your blog before today but will begin on it today. As I wrote to Stefan above, I really do want to go to South Africa and see Cape Town and Table Mountain but it will have to wait. There's a long list of places I want to visit when I retire but they are having to wait until finally I do stop working full-time. Again, thank you.
