It's been a while ...

... as you may have noticed, since I wrote regularly and with a lot more humor than I have recently. I think this comes to all writers: a feeling of being in a rut; of having little of value to say; of being tired and having it show in one's writing; and wondering what the heck to write about next.

Circumstances, none bad, have kept me from the keyboard, will continue to do so for a while and so I'm taking the rest of the month off and will be back at the beginning of November with what I hope will be fresher, livelier essays than those of late.

Until then.

  1. We all need a rest now and again and all bloggers have been there. Eagerly awaiting your observations in November!

  2. May we row in your lake while you're out?

  3. I second what Stefan wrote. A short break will refresh and rejuvenate you and your creativity.

  4. Having just read Reggie Darling and enjoyed from afar the wonderful party, I now have the privilege of putting a name and face to the wonderful writing I have come to enjoy so much here. While I cannot imagine you not have something important to say about design, I also can understand that writing is a difficult task particularly when one crafts a piece so expertly as you do. Have a great rest. We look forward to November.

  6. So very nice to give us a sign. Have a restful break and as for us, we all know that good things come to those who wait.

  7. I so enjoyed catching Blue in person with Reggie & company. Did not get a chance to listen enough. There is a real kinship among bloggers. It sure would be easier not to blog. Sometimes "too much to say" and "too little to say" feels like the same rut.

  8. Your writing is always a gift. Our gift to you is to be there when you want to share. Enjoy yourself and celebrate your life with the (quite handsome by the way) Celt!
