Ils dansent mais ils ne marchent pas

In the words of a recent correspondent but apropos something else, ils dansent mais ils ne marchent pas

It's been good interlude, but it's time to begin again with connections and circles within circles.

  1. I never met an ancient bust (or herm?) that I didn't like.

  2. But I thought you danced while you worked. Well, work a while but get back to dancing as quickly as you can.

  3. Professor Blue: Is this a French corollary to: your mama don't dance and your father don't rock and roll? Have my notebook and pen in hand for the next lecture of circles within circles.

  4. Blue,

Circles within circles is the world we live in and a small one it is!

  5. Devoted Classicist, my apologies for the late response. I too find hermai wonderful. The Vatican Museums are stuffed with statuary from the ancient world - an astonishing amount has been saved.

  6. Terry, thank you. Being back at work is the problem, I think. I cannot seem to shake off the feeling that I should be doing something else.

  7. Home before dark, I really am sorry for my tardiness in replying to your wonderful comment! Thank you. I am having a bit of difficulty in getting back to writing - life seems to intrude too often - but this week should see something.

  8. Karena, astonishing though it is, the world is small. Yet, having said that, I saw no-one I knew in any of the three cities over Christmas. Which, of course, is not to say that someone didn't spot me and kept quiet.
