The panels are from a 1940s Thibaut wallpaper mural, the clock is Directoire, the lamp 1970s, the cabinet last week, glass bowls Murano, tea bowl Japanese, the candlesticks 18th century rococo, and the lilies are dying.

What a stunning view!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Suzy. It was a very troublesome view until the Poliform cabinet was delivered last week and everything fell into place and behaved again.
ReplyDeleteLove it- I should have known, this one is stellar. GT
ReplyDeleteWhat makes me smile are the dark candles, are they blue? Can't really see them until I enlarge the picture. Then the gold-ish candlesticks with dark candles make eyes dart from the dark chair frame, to mural, to dark foliage, to the clock and the little bowl beside it. The chest appears to have the gravity to hold everything in place. I like the balance rather than symmetry. I don't have words for the effect but I'm having fun looking.
ReplyDeleteI like the mural so much. I have perfect place for it in my daughter's apartment.
Ah, now I see the Poliform, and perfectly formed too for the bottom of your pictures. They compliment each other very well. Love the lillies too...
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful pattern. The asymmetry of the paper seems to have provided the theme for the furniture arrangement. Subtle Devil! I'd love to know how it was originally used in the 40s. (Do I recognize your screen candidate here? If so, good choice! Couldn't you manage to do something gauche so we could tisk tisk you just once?)
ReplyDeleteWould the correct song be, "Please don't take my Poliform away?"
ReplyDeleteI love the cabinet! I am so glad it finally arrived! Do you like the wallpaper mural any better now that the composition is complete? I think I need to see it in person, maybe with a cocktail? Yes, I just invited myself over.
ReplyDeleteThank you, y'all. It is very pleasant to get such positive comments, and I really am grateful.
ReplyDeleteNiki, you're welcome anytime. Foie gras and champagne await you.
To Terry... the Celt here... the candles are in fact black. And we do in fact have another version of the mural, that we're not using. It's exactly the same but in a very – and I mean VERY – vibrant green!
ReplyDeletethat wallpaper is BEAUTIFUL. lucky you. ;-)
