My favorite trip ever (and although I am not as well traveled as some, I am fairly well traveled) was a one month tour of England with my husband's grandparents, confirmed Anglophiles who owned a flat in London because they loved the country so much. My husband and I started the trip in Western Ireland, then joined the Grandparents and went all over Southern England, from the west to the east, and made it as far north as York. My mother was born and raised in England, my father was raised in England, so I definitely feel at home there.

We returned home on the 14th after almost 6 weeks of travel (in the states - we were home 1 week of that time), and I can relate to the feeling of finally sleeping in your own bed, your own sheets, your own pillow. Pure bliss.Things That Inspirehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04405995431610377305noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8785207417164829425.post-25961820138593605152009-07-23T06:07:39.841-04:002009-07-23T06:07:39.841-04:00I am so glad to be back. I loved seeing family, catching up with people not seen for twenty years and just being a Briton (sort of) amongst the British again but I am very pleased to be home again - and this is home.

Eric Ravilious is the artist of the last two illustrations. I like him too but I had forgotten him and it was John at The Textile Blog who reminded me of him a few weeks ago.Bluehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07652670896513329236noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8785207417164829425.post-30381043271205470872009-07-22T19:43:29.724-04:002009-07-22T19:43:29.724-04:00I know that feeling so well.
