I too am sorry neither your cousin nor his partner Mr Raiser could have gone one to greater heights. They were very talented. Thank you for writing to me.Bluehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07652670896513329236noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8785207417164829425.post-17688291675138274442011-03-03T16:52:56.284-05:002011-03-03T16:52:56.284-05:00When I see Elrod's designs, I wonder at the ri...When I see Elrod's designs, I wonder at the rise of this man from his very humble beginnings. I am his first cousin (once removed), and believe me when I say that he grew up in an extremely rural setting with parents who were farmers, yet he was gifted in a way that defied his background. Back in those days, it was impossible to even utter the word homosexual, so he inevitably became more estranged over the years from much of his family. I'm so sorry that he didn't have more years of creations for all of us to enjoy.Wes Brownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8785207417164829425.post-90819184133882192942011-01-17T15:12:03.569-05:002011-01-17T15:12:03.569-05:00What a great design team they were. Remember the ...What a great design team they were. Remember the Elrod house which was designed in 1968 by John Lautner. The Elrod House as it has become to be called was used in the James Bond movie Diamonds are Forever. You can rent the ultimate party house today for a mere $100,000 for three years but you must share with others who pay for the same use. I wonder what Arthur would be doing today if he were not killed in a car crash with Mr. Raiser in the early 70's?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17651651288818983933noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8785207417164829425.post-43247594031098716372010-01-27T21:50:27.984-05:002010-01-27T21:50:27.984-05:00Janet - thank you. It wasn't until he joined up with Arthur that he began to be known. Unfortunately the terrible accident ended what would have been two big carriers.WM Twigshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07743820436546232316noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8785207417164829425.post-41127101872782715582010-01-27T13:40:24.375-05:002010-01-27T13:40:24.375-05:00Hmmmm...not at all comfortable looking.
