By the way, your blog does not update automatically in my blog roll - I thought you'd given up blogging until yesterday I checked.Bluehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07652670896513329236noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8785207417164829425.post-19876575974082529522011-01-13T11:49:30.939-05:002011-01-13T11:49:30.939-05:00Columnist, thank you. If in print or online they are, in my opinion, skewed by commercial interests.Bluehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07652670896513329236noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8785207417164829425.post-70358861082690091232011-01-13T02:56:11.847-05:002011-01-13T02:56:11.847-05:00Thank you for such a lovely Italian culinary tour!...Thank you for such a lovely Italian culinary tour!Sarah Mellinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16287853021739077607noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8785207417164829425.post-23606189937883622422011-01-13T01:44:16.985-05:002011-01-13T01:44:16.985-05:00How interesting that you and DED should refer to F...How interesting that you and DED should refer to Facebook. I also find it interesting that you find the reports on Tripadvisor to be taken with a pinch of salt. Reviewers really ought to make available a profile of who they are and where they've been. Someone untravelled, uneducated and worse is going to be impressed by a lot of things that do not amuse me at all. I always begin by looking at the worst reviews. If the criticism includes a sadness that there was no afternoon tea served with scones and clotted cream etc, this is not something that would bother me in the slightest. If it includes a criticism of noise or dirty rooms, or poor and surly service, then I am unlikely to impart my cash for such an experience.

Your Italian odyssey sounds similar to our own, taken far too long ago. I can't recall where we stayed in Florence, (an establishment on the Arno, with which I was not especially impressed), but we did find excellent restaurants nearby.columnisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03764365428633038329noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8785207417164829425.post-33813807438015180482011-01-12T23:21:29.427-05:002011-01-12T23:21:29.427-05:00Thank you, Terry. Most accounts jibe from one perfect event to the next and even the accidents turn out well. I prefer your Pazzi with cold feet; but that's sour grapes on me.

Glad the "bowlful of dark green sludge" turned out wolfing-down good. I was feeling queasy in mid paragraph.Terryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14154846109609330503noreply@blogger.com
